I know some of ya will just say great, sucks, ect. but looking for a lil more indepth, I am planning on adding in the original Megatron crushing this in his hands, all done with 3D modeling programs. Again any indepth critiques would be helpful, but anything is welcome

1st off, it looks good!

But, your light source seems to be off? I mean it's not a beam/circle of light more like an egg like and more to the left then the right. The contrast is off too.

What are the things on the left and the right? And why do you have the (assuming) shadow way down at the bottom? If the light is coming directly from behind the symbol then you shouldnt have a shadow right?

actually its a 4 point light set up, and the things to the left right and bottom are all reflections of the symbol, as for the shadows, its more of a fade from light to dark, and i do see the off-balance of light. Thank you for the Critique.

sorry adding to this, I didnt turn shadows on, on purpose, I did not want them on the scene, mostly because it is not the final scene, there is more to it, but megatron isn't done yet, and I'm having trouble finding my old megatron gun toy from over 15 years ago lol.

Since you want a critiques I will not read anything anyone prior posted... so heres my opinion.


I do not like how the top of the insignia looks like it is bending towards the viewer.


The shade of red is too dark. Lighten up on the shade


Lighten up on the background or put more emphaized to the miraged reflections on the sides


If you are going for the 'cornered bent' look... bend the bottom up a bit so it looks like it's in a true corner instead of just hunching the top and top outers towards the viewpoint. Might as well go for a complete sandwich look if your trying to create true emphasis on your 3d imagry.


lose the pitch black on the outside and go with full grey.. that will put more detail and emphasis on the reflection. currently it looks like your viewing it thru a telescope and I hate telescopic images with a passion.
