yes and no.... If the cg doesn't look good, or the animators don't know whats goen on in the movie, the cg animation won't look right...

Case in point, that last Superman movie. Why they even CG'd superman flying, instead of using a green screen, I don't know. But if you are going to do it with CG, it better look good. So that was a case of the CG looking like crap (as well as the movie overall being crap).

I'm pretty sure what Thug was saying is that you need more than good CG to carry a movie - something like a good or decent plot.
