I figured blowing it up would collapse the hole and stop the leak, didn't think a Nuke would be required, just a BMFB.

Nuclear weapons come in a pretty broad range of destructive capacities. Presumably we wouldn't be detonating a megaton device here..

I vote to use Rosie O Donnel instead... that way nobody would care and everyone would be happy... and she'd finally be doing something useful for a change.
