I've never had to use ambien or any other sleep aids.
I find my klonopin (or clonazepam) knocks me out nicely as a bonus side effect (I take it for nerve pain off label).

i used to play daoc while incredibly stoned. i was moderately famous on my server for being a huge pain in the ass in pvp despite my class.

edit2: i also had a 50 druid, 50 chanter and a thid twink ns. my ns was an unkillable god. everyone wanted to be butt buddies with me in there and i was like PISS OFF I DON'T WANT TO LEVEL OUT!
