I found this quite funny the way it played out...


mu fan 1 complaining about the ESPN 'rivalry' week: "Texas isn't ku's rival! They have MU and Kstate!"
ku fan trying to be superior: Isn't it just like a MU fan to tell us who our rivals are"
mu fan 1: "well who do you say is your number one rival?"
mu fan 2: "the NCAA infractions committee!"

ku fan glares at mu fan 2 then walks away...

That dang infractions committee always trying to own us. I was a little surprised when I heard KU-Texas was considered a rival , but it shouldn't be surprising; I mean I do consider Texas more a rival than I do K-state. That being said, any Jayhawks fan who says any team but Missouri is our number one rival is not a Jayhawks fan at all.


I would like to consider K-state a rival, but to be a rivalry in my book the other team has to beat us more than twice every other decade.

Also just watched that video. I couldn't believe that free throw when I was watching the game last night, strangest thing I have seen in a while. Would have been interesting if he had made it, wonder what the refs would have ruled.

its my understanding (and of course the rules probably dont actually cover this exact scenario) is that you cant fake a shot then shoot again but that is in place to prevent drawing your opponents into the lane for a lane violation. Since there was no one to enter the lane, and he shot before he crossed into the lane, then it would have counted.

but ya, can the refs go to the review booth and sneak a quick call into the rules committee for clarification?

yeah, if he did that with others lined up around the goal it would have been a clear violation. That being said, do the rules change when no one is around to rebound? This would have been a mess for the officals to decide on had it gone down.
