Just got finished builing a delay trigger for my flash. Tested it, and it seems to be working nicely!

I won't post any of the images yet, I'll wait untill I get a decent one


The Kit is a Photogate delay kit, which is a small port with a led in each end triggering the flash when something passes inbetween, and a circut to delay the triggering of the flash.


my setup looks like this:




The idea is to set the camera on a long exposure (or bulb) and let a drop through the photogate, thus triggering the flash as the drop hits the water in the bottom of the bottle.

I bought the photogate delay kit and the sound trigger delay kit. both with breadboards. Took me about an hour to assemble each.

nice! i thought about getting a sound trigger for some high speed shots..


camera in bulb and pop a balloon to trigger, saw some cool shots of half popped balloons and even a breaking lightbulb that was dropped and triggered the sound trigger.

I'll just stick to anticipating the shot without all those fancy gadgets, easier on my wallet

That's probably like a $5 set-up if you already have the flash.

one delay kit with everything you need except a pc sync cord and 9v battery costs $18 + postage.
