This is the easy way! Unfortuantly you still have to keep at it for a while in order to get some decent results.. well most likely

Let the tap run, just slightly but enough so it is a steady flow, just before it starts dripping.

Focus the camera on the water

Turn on your flash

Shoot!

With a little luck, you should be able to capture some cool drops

For my drop shots I used a 20oz or 2 liter bottle duct taped to a stand, take off cap and remove plastic from inside cap and poke small hole in cap, fill up with water or whatever and then duct tape it to a stand over a large bowl with water in it. Keeps up a stead driping that you can then time pretty well..

Also had my camera on tripod manual focused on where the drops fall, then camera hooked to laptop and used that canon software the trigger the shutter... After a few you get the timing down ok.

Yeah, the thing about this method is that you won'y get impact drop shots, but you can get some really cool drops when they fall past the shutter. Esp if you put something cool in the background

You know when I came to this thread after you posted it I honestly thought you meant dropping the camera and was like wtf but then I noticed it was about the drips and wandered off.
