Got my new lens the other day, and have been testing it quite alot. It's a 50mm f/1.2 AI-S. That means that it's an old lens, which needs to be focused manually, as well as choosing the aperture manually. on my D300 it retains light-measurment and i get focus-confirmation, so its not really a big hassle.

The challenge is this thogh, at f/1.2 the DoF is so small, if you're off on the focus by just 1-2 millimeters you won't get a sharp image.

It's alot of fun to play around with it though, and when you're a newb at manual focusing, like me, it's quite challenging as well

Anyway, here are the three images I'm most happy about from the last two days:

Lovely shots, and perfect on the DOF.
The focus on the first one seems to be off, but that could just be my eyes playing tricks on me because they are sooo shallow.
I can only imagine how difficult controlling your DOF at 1.2 must be, because it can be a challenge even at 2.8, to make sure you get what you want, like this

So 1.2 would be interesting to say the least.

Thanks

I'm not completely sure about the focus myself in that first one. I think it is slightly behind where I wanted it
