Hey everyone, been a while since I've popped in here. I'm looking to pick up my first DSLR (I've used them just don't own my own). I'm really interested in the D7000 as I feel it's something I won't outgrow for a long time. I've also been looking at the D90 which I know is older but I've heard it's still a great camera. I don't care about video capabilities I just want to take pictures.

Obviously the D90 is going to cost less which would mean I could pick up another lens to shoot with besides the kit lens (unless I do body only, then maybe 2 lenses). The D7000 would probably have me using the kit lens for a bit.

I won't be shooting any one thing in particular, so I need something that will handle pretty much everything.

Are there any other devices I'm overlooking?

Any other suggestions?

Two of my employees use D7000's as their primary cameras, and I am stunned continuously with the quality it pumps out. Then again, so does the D90.


My personal choice would be to go with the D90 and get more Glass, as thats more important than the body at your stage in the game.
