I noticed that with my son when he was about six or seven. He would write 'd' instead of 'b' and certain other letters would be the wrong way round.
He really struggled with reading also.
I mentioned it to his teachers but it wasn't until he was around 10 and was being disruptive in class that we got him tested.
Turned out he was in fact dsylexic. After an eye test he was given tinted glasses to use and these actually helped enormously.
We also discovered that he couldn't see the colour red, which was a real problem in school as they use whiteboards and the teachers frequently write in red.
If he continues I would recommend getting it checked out. It can't do any harm and the earlier it's known the happier he will be as the school can adjust to it.
My son has a 'helper' at school to scribe things for him and he is a much happier child.
