Commercials. Especially for kids. They're evil. The girls only watch disney and pbs here, or disney movies. I don't watch any tv while they are here.

so far the only thing I've seen out of these "entertainers" is urban dance and rap. Stomp the House. I wanna run screaming everytime I hear them start up. nails on chalkboard. The worst is I don't THINK they are trying to sell anything. just Channel Noggin filler between shows.

Posts like this just further influence my decision to never buy cable programming. We watch a combination of DVD's and streaming Netflix through the 360. No commercials.

Aime doesn't watch any of the shows targeted for kids but we do spend a lot of time with her reading, writing and doing simple math. So far, she's way ahead of the kids in her daycare and she's not glued in front of the tube. Yesterday, we spent a couple of hours together just painting with water colors and she seems to enjoy that a lot more than having the TV on.
Don't try and take away her mp3 player in the car, though. She's a toddler music addict. She does have a good voice and can carry a tune quite well, though.
