I recently got a new car which has speakers below what I was really looking for. So I went into Best Buy to look at the speakers and I realised I had no idea what I was really looking for. Can anyone share basic info and things I should know about it?

And should I risk installing it myself or get Best Buy or someplace else to do it for me?

I don't know much about the subject, but I must say common sense says that if you're making the thread, you should probably have a professional install it.

However- Best Buy isn't the best professional for the task.

How much money are you dropping into this? If you're just buying a couple sets of mid level speakers then Best Buy will have what you're looking for, but if you're trying to deck yourself out in a really nice set then find an Audio store tailored to your needs. Tweeter or something like that.

I would say find a local car audio dealer and get a Memphis package. Great product for the price imo.
