Bob and I don't have many decorations yet as this is only our 3rd Christmas together. It took us 2 years to finally buy a tree and this year will be the first we can put presents under it!
We've had a rough start in our relationship with money, health and just bad luck, but what didn't kill us just made us super duper strong and this is going to be the
bestest Christmas ever.
So far as traditions, we're still trying to work out the details. We have our precious tree with coordinated blues and sparkles and we have a handmade ice crystal wreath for our front door. We both agree that window lights can be very tacky if not done properly (ie: every house on our street, lol) so we haven't purchased any until we find the right ones, instead we do the candle thing in our front windows.
We tack our Christmas cards from our loved ones around the doorway that leads to our family room and I put out all the Christmas candles that I've collected from gifts I've received over the years from my Aunts. We have one Aunt that hand makes an artificial floral arrangement for all her nieces every year, and I have those put out around the house on display. This year she made them in a sleigh and it's so huge I had to put it on the floor, and it looks awesome.
When the babies come all this won't mean anything and I'll be lucky if the gifts get wrapped.
the first year we set them up, but now he loves them, and asks if it's time to get the box out of the closet yet.
