My wife and I have a bird feeder we totaly love! It has a very heavy base so that the bird feeder can stand freely on our back porch.

The problem is, she got this one a few years ago for Christmas from SAM's but we have not been able to find anything like it since. I have looked through so many sites, and we always check the isles of gardening at SAM's hoping we'll spot another one.

I have yet to find one, and wonder if they even make one any more.

anyone seen one, or know a spot I might find one?

I absolutely love your bird feeder and I haven't seen anything like it either, Cere.

We have a 'bird shop' in LaCrosse where we work. I'll see if we can stop by there and ask sometime.

Free standing bird feeders...

hmmmm....that reminds me of a couple of things I've seen and I'm glad you brought it up, as I've been wanting to get another bird feeder since we moved.

I work in a school. Long ago, a friend of mine took one of those free standing volleyball stands (one w/ a heavy metal/sand filled base), cut it off a bit and mounted the cutest birdhouse feeder on it. Painted the whole thing up and wow, it worked wonderfully.

I've also seen a similar thing done w/ a theater light stand.

pretty close!! But not quite. The one we have stands at least 5-6 ft tall. I will take a picture of it when I get home from work tonight and see if I can post it.

That is exciting, because that is the 1st "Free Standing Feeder" I have seen yet!!

A couple of those would look good with the existing one.

Thanks!
