The bf got me a grill pan a few weeks back and used it for the first time last night.

Bought some nice juicy steaks, coated in some olive oil, sea salt, fresh ground pepper, liquid smoke.

Seared them for 3-4 minutes on each side and then finished them off on a lower temp.

YUM

They're awesome for indoor grilling.

If you had taken my offer to move in, I could cook for you almost every night

If I'm not smoking/grilling outside, liquid smoke is a blessing for inside cooking. *if* you use it sparingly. It can add a note to something that would otherwise be plain.

Is this pan on that sits on the stove?

I have a big one that is electric and its a pain to use. I want one that is like a griddle and sits on my gas burners. I love to grill in the winter time but don't like to go outside into the cold to cook.

I prefer to cook outside even in the winter but when it's sub zero, I'll use my Lodge cast iron griddle/grill. It's a griddle on one side and a grill pan on the other and is wonderful for indoor grilling.

Liquid smoke is yummy when used sparingly.

And yes, it's a big one that goes on the gas burners on the stove.
