Personally for me the reason I like to watch Top Chef is because these guys arent masters, yet. Theyre just regular cooks still that you can somewhat identify with. Maybe Im putting these new "Masters" too high on a pedestal but the ones so far seem to have very little personality to begin with and lets be honest, they could all be kicked off the show at once and they would go back to their cushy jobs/lives without any major thing happening.(well their charity would be disappointed but most of these guys could afford to at least match the grand prize to any charity theyre playing for)

I watched and enjoyed it. They were given tough challenges and had to do some serious improvising to create master-quality dishes. At this point, I will continue watching and see how it goes.

I'm enjoying it. Especially because the master chefs really have the stones to stand behind their dishes. I appreciate that a lot. Also, watching people cook that have mastered cooking is very interesting to me.

It is to me too, dont get me wrong, I have much professional respect for the chefs on the show. It just seems that they are insulting the essence of the show by doing this one. I hope they arent just doing this crappy half season thing(I noticed only 6 master chefs will be on the actual show?) and then canceling it

Only six will be in the final. So, there are six weeks of four chefs competing against one another for a shot in the final. I guess that makes it a half season show, because that only comes out to seven shows total.


Did you even watch it, NON? Making them cook in a dorm room with no sink/running water using only a microwave, toaster oven and a hot plate doesn't seem to insult the essence of the show to me.

yes I did watch it.. I dunno I just didnt enjoy it. Its like going to your kid's school ready to see them act their lil hearts out and you get there to find out its been replaced by a prima ballerina. Its more about proving your worth as a top chef rather than showing off your skills as an already established top chef. Granted it might be fascinating to watch these guys work but to me its just not the same.
