Just took it real slow and gave it a rough chop.
Still managed to poke my hand with the knife though,
second time I've done that. WTF is going on here?

Yes, I know.  That's why I waited until everything was prepped.
Just forgot one teenie weenie item.
It was a really good Shiraz from South Africa, used 1/2 of it to make some stew.
I believe I payed a bit north of 20 bucks, I'm getting some more.

I took your last warning to heart. Thought I had all the chopping finished and before I poured the wine into the stew, I just had to check it out first.
So I took it real slow and the poke didn't even break skin.
I'm willing to bleed a little for good food anyway.
