my mom booked a set of 53-piece flatware online, i think it is a waste of money to by so many useless forks and spoons, but she insisted to by them, and have a cold war between us. what do u think of this?? is this necessary??

I have service for 8 and I love it. But we had 4 people in our family and had company often, so it worked for us.

What lokkie said... We have a service for 8 as well and could use a service for 16 in some case. Yeah you may not always use a Salad fork or a Teaspoon and Soup Spoon. But they are nice to have.

We bought 2 sets for eight and we use them all the time when we have company. 53 pieces isn't all *that* much.

I got so tired of never having enough silverware, that I now have probably enough to serve 50 people!!


I ave sometimes up to 30 people at my house for holiday meals.

I think I have a service of 16, plus serving pieces. Why do you give a crap what you mother buys?

if you have a lot of parties i guess. myself i am satisfied with using plastic forks/paper plates when i have company but i am not exactly a socialite.
