Iron Chef Garces!


I agree w/ some of the comments in that creativity is wonderful, but if you cant execute the basics, then there is a problem. Undercooked food is a bad thing. Chef Garces cooked everything perfectly. His execution was perfection except for 1 person on the taco. Mehta had more creativity but lacked in the basics. His food was undercooked/raw several times.

I prefer Garces to Mehta, but I've seen plenty of Iron Chefs not execute relatively basic cooking techniques during shows before. What I find interesting is that the reasoning they used to choose Garces, an argument that Michael Symon was advocating strongly, was the exact opposite reasoning as to why they chose Symon over Besh last time. Symon was the guy who reached the higher highs, whereas Besh was the more consistent technician.

i much preferred Besh over Symon.

i couldnt believe the judges were arguing for a guy that served them raw pork and potatoes.
