The Assassins of Tamurin

Just got it from a used book store and loved it.
Fantasy novel. Story of an orphan girl trained as an assassin. The world has elements of Japan to it, but feels fairly European.
It is an interesting novel of intrigue, politics, war, romance. For me it was a great balance.
Low fantasy. Magic exists but just enough for curses and ghosts type of thing.
oh, and it is written in first person
