So, I'd heard a few things here about this series and it had always kind of caught my eye at B&N, so I went ahead and bought it. Is anyone disappointed at how easily everything came into play? I mean, he happens to escape in the beginning, Kiara almost instantly takes a liking to him, his uncle pledges all his money and resources without even talking to him, and then the other king offers a boatload of money, troops, supplies, and advisors for simply bringing his daughter back? Everything seems WAY to convenient and is just given to him easily.

Does it get better? As it stands now, I have no real desire to go on with the series...
