But I started thinking.. we already have a crap load of armor types. And I feel if we add even more armor types it would further dilute our loot system. Is there any other way we could further alter our appearance?
The Rough Idea (help me build on it):
- What if you were able to "imbue" or "tinker" your armor with a special visual effect. These effects would radiate outward from the armor/character.
What kind of visual effects?
- Well Weapons and Wands have pretty neat "visual" effects. Take for example a sword with lightning or fire swirling around it, or a weeping weapon with blood dripping from it. There are hundreds of cool "visual effects" on weapons & wands in AC. Take your pick.
Three examples:
Toxic Infusion:
- Toxic fumes radiate outward from the infused character.

Thunder Struck:
- Chain lightning would cover the entire character. It would look much like Lightning on a weapon.

White Frost:
- A blizzard snowstorm follows the character around. Much like the housing item "snownado":

How does one gain such a thing?
- You could gain these special armor effects by doing difficult quests, or other tasks like tinkering, crafting or gathering rare items.
What would the benefit be?
Well you would look hella cool.. lol. But what if:
Toxic Infusion - You could infect targets. Chance of a Dot (Damage over time) spell.
Thunder Struck - A electric shock discharge. A small chance to "stun" your enemies.
White Frost - Freezes your enemies. A spell that slows them down.
