Looking at gaming laptops again. I see a few Asus models that I like on Newegg, but I thought I would get some input from the boards.

Would like it to have a 1920 x 1080 screen that is at least 17 inches. Naturally it needs to have a decent GFX card as well.

Shooting for around the 1000 dollar mark.

I have an older G73 and I am very happy with it.


It does have one quirk which I haven't been able to figure out though.


Everyone once in a while the sound card goes apeshit. I don't know if it's a driver issue or a hardware issue but the speakers just start making oddball screeching sounds and the only way I can get it to stop is to reboot the computer. It has done it 3 times since I owned it and two of those times were a week ago when I was creating a memorial video for a friends funeral.


Other than that, it's been a great gaming laptop.
