Well my 470 completely died.

Debating if I should spend the extra $200 and just get the GTX580 over the GTX560ti....

Kinda tough. The GTX 580's product cycle is just passed it's halfway point (launched 9 months ago, probably being replaced in 6 to 8 months).

Kepler is rumored to be delayed until Q1 2012 (was intended for Q4 2011, might still happen if the delay rumors are wrong). It's still quite a ways off. But... touch choice on to spend that $500 now or go cheaper and then just upgrade again sooner.

Also AMD also has a new cards coming in Q4 this year.

I would probably just go with a 560ti to get me over until the new cards ship.

True, and the wife would probably have less "aggro" with a $200 less bill

The 570 is an awesome card and can be had for a good price.

Currently in the MMO unemployment line.
Can I get $15/month for not playing them?
