I posted this the console board, but thought I'd share with the PC users as well a couple interesting Windows 8 rumors.
Windows 8 may be able to run Xbox 360 games?

Or the next Xbox may even be running on Windows 8?

Would be really nice if both came true. Would be nice to be able to run my Xbox 360 games on my PC. They speculate Windows 8 might need some emulation to do this properly, but I think a good gaming system should be able to handle that. And then the next gen Xbox totally blurring the lines between console and PC gaming with games being able to run on either system?
I think it sounds pretty exciting for PC gaming. |

Something like this could probably cause me to purchase a few console games. If I really fell in love with a game or two...I'd probably buy the console for convenience. I see this as a BRILLIANT marketing strategy.

I can DEFINITELY see the new Xbox running a modified version of 8, particularly after watching the 'tablet' version demonstration.

pc and console can play together if you're using a ps3 and steam games.

We are talking about first party here.. Not a bloated 3rd party trying to get their foot in the door on consoles.

I think it's brilliant. If they can make pc and xbox compatibility easy it's a no brainer. If developers can make 1 game and it work on both pc and 360 and not having to do any ports, I think I know what their lead development platform will be on.

Well, there will still have to be some porting/recoding to make the games work with keyboard and mouse. The down side of this is you will see more and more games being released on the PC that pretty much require the use of a controller because of developer laziness.

I dont know, I think you may see some keyboard / mouse support on the xbox.
