Facebook added a feature that lets expecting parents create a status for expected children, including a picture, name, and due date.

And apparently you can link existing Facebook profiles as your expected child, though the story suspects that part is probably a bug.

i linked someone's mom as my expected child for 2012. afaik, it did not send her a request to approve it like it does with other family associations.

Social networking is a passing phase, people will eventually tire of leading their lives in the public domain, especially after a few more hacking scares etc.
