So anyhow, I download Origin, and to my surprise, I'm able to use my CD Key from Steam to import my information in Origin. Cool. So I login to my web account, and purchase the new DLC... on the wrong web account. I accidentally purchased the DLC for Dragon Age II on the account I used a long time ago to purchase Dragon Age. So kinda annoyed at myself, and kinda annoyed at the system that didn't do a basic check since online registration is required to play these games, I googled a bit and found that other people have done this too. All they did to fix it was go to EA's online chat.
I did this, and a tier 1 tech answered within minutes. That was pretty cool. I explained my problem and "she" seemed to understand. She said that they would be able to help but that she didn't have the power and would have to escalate the ticket to tier 2. Hopeful for a resolution, I off we went into a 30 minute queue for tier 2 support. After 45 minutes of waiting, the java applet timed out and I did not speak with anyone.... grrr.
So I go back to the old tier 1 chat again, and luckily I get someone. I explain my problem, as well as my minor frustration with waiting 45 minutes, and she replied that they are unable to help. "Once you apply a key, it can not be applied to another account." A bit frustrated, and having heard other people have had help with this problem, I tried to explain my situation again, and mentioned that a refund so that I can repurchase the DLC would work too. She then asked me "why would you like a refund?"
Grrrr. I closed the window in annoyance. It was only $10.
So I go online to my Bioware account and delete the Dragon Age account. I then go to my new Origin account and change the email to the old Bioware account. AMG all three DLCs applied to the base game. I knew I shouldn't have wasted time with online support...
They still pissed me off, but at least now I'm playing the game... no thanks to EA, Bioware, or my own stupid self.
