Wowzer's, Google announced today they are going to buy Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion. This should be interesting.

Google says they'll continue to operate Motorola as a separate company. So the Motorola name isn't going away.

And some court documents against Samsung revealed that Apple plans to sue Motorola next for patent infringement. With Google taking over Motorola, that should be fun.

I think apple might of wet themselves alittle.

It's sad that with the state of litigation, Google had to buy them just to make sure Android can stay open for the foreseeable future. Well, it has been bad for many years now (anyone remember the SCO case? lol) but this is a big acquisition essentially just for patents.
