Rumors say we should see the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone in October with the Samsung Nexus Prime, a 4.5 inch phone with a 1.5GHz dual core processor.

Good timing for me as my upgrade option becomes available in November.

Currently in the MMO unemployment line.
Can I get $15/month for not playing them?

I got to imagine the Xoom is definitely getting it. It seemed to take the Nexus one a few weeks to get the Gingerbread update, but it eventually happened and still much sooner than most other Froyo phones did. So probably not happening on day one or two, but shouldn't be too long after release.

Will be interesting to see an all platform OS. I'll have to start developing on it just to see how flexible it is. Ripping out an app for my clients that their guys can use on a phone or a pad or even the desktops in the office would rock.

Actually it was a few months before the nexus one got gingerbread, but it was the first to get it.

Well 13 or 14 weeks later is still "a few" by some sorta stretch.

Yeah, they did seem to keep delaying that one. Hopefully it was a carrier issue and the wifi Xoom at least won't get strung along that long. The wifi Xoom seems to get updates ahead of the 3G Verizon Xoom for some reason even though it's vanilla like the Nexus phones are.
