OK, so at work i'm trying to figure out to print both a .txt and a .cfg file at the same time. we have acouple of older systems that i can do this on but at times they are occupied so i'd like to be able to set it up and do it on all our machines. the problem is i select the files and click print on the older machines, on the XP machines there's no "print" option on the lise when i right click on the files i've selected.

I dont think the "Print" option is available when you shoose two different extension types. My best guess would be to copy and paste them into WordPad or NotePad and then print from there.

It let's me do it on an older version of windows though, just not XP.

i don't want to open and print 30+ files at a time, it's a time saving thing when i can do 10 prints on a computer using an older version of windows vs. 30 individual open/print/close. it's a waste of time and is better for me to just wait until one of the older systems is vacant to print everything i need than to try and print each individually.

anyone know if there's a way to set an extension to where it can be printed like that? i'm pretty sure its the .cfg files being the problem and i set them to open with word but it didn't fix the issue.

What happens if you sort by app and only select one type at a time?

You might need to add the Print option yourself... not that hard.

when i click on it individually i can print the .txt files but not the .cfg files. what do i need to do to add the print option?

Open Explorer (the file one not IE).
Click on Tools > Folder Options then go to the File Types tab.
Scroll down to the TXT extension and select it then click Advanced.
Click the print entry under Actions and click Edit.

The above steps will show you how TXT files are configured... you'll want to recreate that for CFG files. Not as hard as it sounds really assuming you are at least sorta computer literate. Once you get a handle on how Actions are setup you can setup all kinds of things to be available on right click.
