Razer tells us there are no true gaming laptops, just giant desktop replacements posing as gaming laptops. And their new Razer Blade gaming laptop is the first of it's kind.

http://www.razerzone.com/blade#/video-tour

17.3 inch 1920x1080 LED screen
Intel Core i7-2640M 2.8-3.5GHz CPU
Nvidia GT555M 2GB GPU
8GB DDR3
320GB 7200RPM HDD

Nice specs. The laptop is less than an inch thick which is pretty good for a gaming laptop. Though I see two sacrifices were made to get that thickness. No optical drive (no big deal) and no removable battery. The battery is integrated and seems kinda small. Might be a concern.

What's really cool is the touch pad though. It uses a capacitive touch display as a touch pad if you are not using an external mouse. And if you do plug in a mouse, then it can be used as an extra screen for games. And above this screen are 10 more buttons backlit by another LCD.

$2,800 is a bit too rich for me though.

Agree on the price tag. It is a big ouch on a wallet. But the spec sure look nice for a laptop. I wonder how hot it can get and how much noise the fan will do.

That is a really slick laptop and I'm not usually impressed by them.

I wouldn't go that far. I'd put it closer to around $800. That dynamic switchblade pad puts this thing in a class of its own.

i agree 2800 is a bit much but considering the new pad... 2k would be a good deal.
