Cheapest gaming computer build |
You guys helped me build a computer a couple months ago, so I figured I'd post here again to try and help a buddy.
He is trying to find the cheapest gaming build. He basically only plays daoc, but would like it to be able to run AoC as well as we just started out on the F2P.
He doesn't need a monitor. Desk space is no concern.

Cheapest and gaming are very hard to put together. The cheaper you get, the less gaming you can do.

Yeah, I just wanted to see what you guys could come up with. Plus DAoC isn't that demanding, he is just on an old Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop playing right now. Anything really would be an upgrade for him.
Would it be possible for something around $300-$400?

For DAoC, yeah, but for AoC, probably not.

I'm pretty sure that rig will run AoC just fine. I have a slightly more powerful one (Phenom II 940 Black Edition overclocked to 3.4ghz and HD6870) and I run it fine (beside the bugs  ).
The power supply is quite weak though on that rig you linked...

I'd wait a month and maybe save up $2-300 more. Then he can get a pretty decent system.
