In the short term, great deal.

In the long term HDMI is going to be killed off in favor of HDBaseT (better known as Cat5e/Cat6).

So don't buy more than you will need.

I doubt HDMI will disappear from AV equipment anytime soon. The only AV connector I can think of that has totally disappeared is the old twin lead antenna connection.

I agree, it takes a while for something to become standard. Hell blue ray/and gaming consoles still come with VGA cables over HDMI.

Twin-lead antennas will always be useful. It is just the connection to A/V gear that is gone because throwing on a balun when needed is easy enough and saves the A/V equipment manufacture a few pennies.

True but the connection now needs an adapter. I am using an ancient set of rabbit ears for my TV reception myself and it works just fine.

These definitely work. I have used 4 of the 5 I ordered with no problems. You will wait a couple weeks for them though...but heck of a deal.
