I finally have an Android based cell phone. I need a better calendar app then the stock. The problem I have is that the reminders for events in you calendar are one time notifications. I'd like the reminders to be like an alarm I have to manually dismiss.

Any suggestions?

Also, any must have apps for the Droids?

Thanks

Personally, I like Astrid.

You can add alarms, reminders and the like.

Fairly easy app to use and you can sync with google.

/bows to google

That's really odd because my stock calendar is tied to Google calendar and it depends on how you set your reminder to how the phone behaves.

Maybe it's just a configuration issue or you're using a phone with a built in calendar app that isn't tied to Google's calendar?

It's a Droid 3 and I'm the first to admit I'm new to anything Android. But looking into my settings you are correct, I'm using the phone calendar.

Call me old, but I still don't like the idea of all my personnel info out on Google's servers.
