When you wake up at 6 a.m. on a weekend and can't go back to sleep, you expect your games to launch. Not today *sigh* Ive rebooted, restarted steam many times the fraking game wont open.

Anyone else have problems with games in steam not running?

Launched fine for me, and I don't think I have ever had a problem launching a game with steam. Not sure what could be causing the problem.

So, I dont know if this applies to you, but If your running an ANTIVIRUS program is can be blocking necessary updates....last patch appears to be from the 10/28 version 7.05, but then I found this in the thread:

Su4dinner posted:

Q: I still having issues with the launcher, what can I do?

A: First off, download this file (Now includes the correct version of DirectX):

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z5I40QUD

or

http://www.filesonic.com/file/267955...stallFiles.zip

or

http://hotfile.com/dl/132877728/2d5e...Files.zip.html

Then, extract that file. Figure out if you have a 32-bit or 64-bit OS. Find whichever registry file matches your OS, and you should be able to simply double click that registry file.

If simply double clicking does not work, try this:

Click on Start and then Run...

Type in regedit, and then press OK

In regedit, click on File, and then Import

Select the registry file that matches your OS and press OK

The contents of that ".reg" file will be entered into the registry.

After doing that, go ahead and install the other packages included in the zip. You can then try and launch from the file "DunDefGame.exe" which is located in your Binaries\Win32 folder within "dungeon defenders" and you should be good to go!

If no problems previously, check the AV and version of the game...

Odd, working fine for me.

This game is way too addicting though.

I had that problem with Neverwinter Nights 2. Ended up being a problem if I had a CD in the CD-ROM and it was trying to validate the CD and just hung.

well, I uninstalled it and redownloaded it. I just went and got breakfast while it was downloading.

I am LOVING this game. One complaint though is it costs way way to much to respec your skills.

FYI, your mana bank is shared for all of your characters (on the ranked servers, at least) so if you aren't too high level, you can just start a new character and not lose of the mana you've saved up.

It is really easy to get mana and level up decently fast, can do ramparts on medium/hard even with a very low level squire and it is good mana.
