Prices of hard drives are soaring after a huge flood in Thailand has put thousands of factories under water, including Western Digital. Even now factories are still flooded and workers are using boats and jet skis to carry out parts that were stored in the upper levels of the factories. Seagate's factory was not flooded, but the overall supply shortage means everyone is raising their prices due to the demand.
