Recently decided to give another linux install a go, went with linux mint 12. After a week or so of using gnome 3 I've now removed all windows partitions from my laptop and have a full mint box with a windows 7 vm for any .net development I may need to do.
Have to say, I figured I was done with linux for quite a while after trying out ubuntu with it's unity interface, but now that I've tried gnome 3 (and have tweaked it out just right), I have to say that I don't see myself going back to windows on a non-gaming box anytime soon.

I installed Mint 12 on my laptop as well, and surprisingly I have enjoyed the experience so far. I should slap it on my desktop too and see how I like it for heavier use.

I like Mint a lot, although I prefer Debian or BSD. I would have it on my laptop if linux had support for optimus.

Hits on Distrowatch have Mint way ahead of Ubuntu now. The cram down of Unity was a very bad idea. I think we'll be hearing Shuttleworth eat some humble pie over it at some point in 2012.

The only drawback I've hit so far is that I have to run netflix from the VM and my wife uses the laptop hooked up to our HDTV to watch movies and such. She's a bit miffed about the whole deal, but getting used to it. Netflix needs to get its head out of its arse and find some other form of drm other than silverlight.

Well since MS appears to be dropping Silverlight support in favor of HTML 5, I think eventually Netflix (or whomever owns them soon, haha) will switch over to HTML5.

Currently in the MMO unemployment line.
Can I get $15/month for not playing them?

I'm rockin Fedora 16. Loving it with the latest version of gnome 3. I am kinda miffed that the gnome-shell-extension-user-theme shell extension is bugged and therefore broke Gnome Tweak Tool but otherwise its awesome.
I read an article thats a few months old about Netflix and Linux. Apparently some of the devs are huge linux fans and have been pushing for more open-source availability with Netflix. They have stated that its in the works but due to the importance of some other projects it could still be 12 months away. But at least its good news.

That's very good news. I think if they got netflix available on Linux without Emulation then a great deal of media center pc's will also be linux based haha.
