All of my Chrome URL shortcut icons changed from the Chrome icon (blue dot with green, red, yellow sections surrounding) to a plain white sheet of paper with folded corner. I know how to change them manually but that's a pain.

I tried reinstalling so far and would rather not uninstall/reinstall.

Your changing the icon, or the program it opens with? If you change that file type to chrome with the apply to all box checked, it should change them all.

Until lately, if I drag a link straight from the URL window to the desktop, the shortcut/url had the Chrome Icon, now it's just a white sheet of paper icon. I only have Chrome and IE installed, no other browser.

right click on it -> properties -> change button for "Opens with:"

Select chrome or browse to it via the browse button.

check the box for "Always use the selected program to open this type of file"

click ok

The shortcuts open the correct program, it's just the chrome icon is missing, instead its a white piece of paper.

Someone else has experienced this problem.
