Amazon launched a new Windows app called "Send To Kindle" that lets you send documents wirelessly from your PC to your Kindle or Kindle App.

Real easy to download and install. Then you just right click on a compatible document type and click Send to Kindle on the context menu.

It's suppose to work with any device that has the Kindle app installed, iOS, Android, etc, and of course with the Kindle e-readers. I got it working with my iPad, yet it doesn't work with any of my Androids. Also read others couldn't get it working with Android.

Besides Android not working yet, I'm also disappointed they are still charging a fee to send files to the cloud service.

In the meantime I'll still need to continue using Dropbox as my method of wirelessly transfering file to my Kindle apps. One extra step, but it works.

Makes sense, I mean it's just a localized version of the same interface you use on their website where you can buy a Kindle book/mag/newspaper and have it delivered wirelessly to any device on your account. This uses the same thing to just take local items and push to the Amazon cloud, then back down to your device.

Just odd that Amazon makes an Android tablet, yet their app isn't working on Android. Ugh.

And they also haven't (yet?) been sued by MS for Android patent infrigements. They might be just treading carefully, who knows?

The word is supposedly Amazon or it's manufacture Quanta already reached a license agreement with Microsoft before the Kindle Fire was launched. So they are paying the Android tax to Microsoft like almost everyone else now.
