Of course I just bought a Core i5 2500K and then I see a headline that Intel has released it's successor a Core i5 2550K, along with a 2450P and 2380P.

But on closer examination, it seems I'm not missing out on nothing. All three processors have a very modest 100MHz increase over their slightly cheaper counter parts, 2500K, 2400, and 2320 models, along with a slightly more expensive price tag (a few bucks). It's not certain what the "P" in the model number signifies (the "K" is an unlocked model). But VR-Zone believes all three models don't include a GPU.

So no difference.

I might be an idiot and upgrade to Ivy Bridge in April from my 2500k. If I do, it is only to stick my existing 2500k into my HTPC though, otherwise not worth it.

I survived to the end and got nothing out of it, but hey.
