Just saw short documentary about tribe living at Pacific island. US troops used the Island as air base during WW2 and they'd give local tribesmen corned beef in exchange for their forced hospitality. The Tribesfolk amazed by the flying machines and the tasty beef regarded to the soldiers as Gods and after the war ended and soldiers left, they'd mourn and for decades they would annually gather at the abandoned airports to burn bonfires so their Gods would find their way back and even build mock-airplanes out of wood for idol worship.
If they were still there, wouldn't it be cool if USAF actually visited them if not for anything else, to drop them few cans of that delicious corned beef?
