I have discussed it on another board and the reaction from some people there was a harsh attitude bordering on hatred towards home schooling, the parents and kids. Is there something inherently evil in home schooling that I am just missing?

I think the issue with home schooling is that the stereotype of parents being either religious crazies or anti-government crazies (or sometimes both).

I have a friend In Bailey Colorado. He home schools. I think he has valid points.
He didn't say anything but after that high school shooting in Bailey I think he made a wise choice to home school. His kids are are smart and have all kinds of activities outside the home.
