There is a guy here who owns three local franchises of a large restaurant chain. He's known for hiring people on parole and in drug court and giving them "second chances". Except it turns out that all along he's been abusing them by paying them server's wages ($2.00/hr) but having them in non serving positions, including managing his restaurants, then switching them to "salary" if they hit 40 hours in a week. He never augmented their pay to minimum wage based on tips either. His paychecks often bounced and when things were particularly bad he would send people out to buy substandard food and supplies to serve.
Then he got a big public subsidy to open another location and ordered his employees to rent a Ryder truck and come clean out one of his stores where he was months behind on rent and being sued by his landlord. The property owner locks up the restaurant and the police inform him that nothing can be removed. So then he sends another group of them back overnight to clean out the rest of the stock.
Capitalist of the year, IMO.
