There lead singer is the most overrated piece of crap in music history and the rest of the band is just average.I own never mind the bollocks and it is overrated as hell I rarely listen to it.
so some dumb popculture following college kid bought a sex pistols album and realised it didnt sound like the stuff he hears on mtv.
he then decides they are over rated? how can you over rate a punk band? what were the ratings criteria? what did he think he was buying?
punk is angry, loud, noisy and it fuking rocks. its not supposed to be deep and meaningfull or meditative like yer average emo crap on mtv.
and it is their, not there.

I disagree with his reasoning, but they're still overrated because they don't have enough material to deserve the legacy they got.
That said, the list is crap because Coldplay isn't on it.

No. The Sex Pistols are revered for exactly what they did. The idea of how much they produced being relevant is ridiculous.
They could barely stand each other. They all hated Sid. Lydon is a complete whacko and the Pistols represented everything he hated about commercial music. They were good for one album, anything else would have been utter schlock.
The Sex Pistols are considered a pioneer band and were never rated particularly highly by anyone. They were the punk version of the Monkees. People think that since their name made them the trademark punk band that they were a major force/success. They were not. They were a farce.
Ironically in the end they were precisely what they were rebelling against...a marketing construct.
That said, Never Mind the Bullocks is one of the greatest records of all time. It simply rocks from beginning to end.
Funny how that works.
