I don't even get what that book is. It's not a novel. It's not a collection of short stories. It's like a bunch of Wikipedia articles about a world that doesn't exist.

It is the most complete oral history of a fantasy world ever conceived by man. He imagined poetic stories about every piece of the world we can see around us. This is Tolkien's Bible. This is his masterpiece. This is where he took the world of his mind's creation and used it to teach the lessons he believed were important for humanity to understand. It's a geniuses take on all things. Valuable in his opinions sure, but wonderful to behold. There are times when I'm listening to Martin Shaw's rendition of this story that I'm blown away at the mind Tolkien must have had in order to formulate these concepts so abstractly. I love it. Greatest piece of writing of all time.
