I've obviously missed some more stupid political stuff and I don't know what you're talking about here. I do know that various efforts at creating effective "algae fuels" have been going on for the last 30 years or so, and iirc there have been some pretty cool breakthrus in recent years using algae for a variety of environmental issues like waste treatment and, I think, some kind of algae that eats plastic. Didn't the outpost have a link to that article a few weeks ago?
