Despite doing poorly in his bid for President, Newt is staying in the race, refusing to bow out for one single reason: To thwart Santorum's evilness and save America.
If Newt drops out Santorum would trick Newt's followers into following him instead. Newt knows this and stays in to prevent this, helping Romney keep Santorum at bay.
