So what's this talk I hear on the web of a big expansion pack that's bringing all us old timers back to AC again? Is it worth re-subbing?

Not an expansion pack, just changes to how weapons are classed, upgraded damage and such. http://ac.turbine.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=691-february-2012-release-notes&catid=86-2012&Itemid=68 That page will give you an idea of what they're doing this month.
