OH forgot to ask, might come back to AC so which is better Mage or Archer, those are my highest toons plus the ones I like to play.When I left mage was the killer and archer 2nd

Just my opinion, but it depends on your play style. Both are quite powerful. You may also want to look into the new 2-Handed character type if you would like to make a melee character.
