Is there an updated map that shows what level monsters are in an area?

Not sure if there is a map that specifically shows that, but if you are returning to game, the AC Wiki is EXTREMELY useful.

Also, Dr Doom's leveling for fun and profit guide in the Wiki is pretty good:
